Hi Everybody
Have been keeping up with all the latest news, sorry have not posted as have been working hard at work and coming home to work some more, did manage to get my Angel swap sent and I know it has been received, and then there was the Advent swap to finish and post and I finally finished that last Friday and have now sent that on it's way to the Netherlands to Monique, hopefully will arrive in the next week. I have also sent of Cheryl-lee's (daughter) swaps as well as she has been working hard as a trainee manager at one of the McDonald stores in town and had to go on course this week. Cheryl-lee's Advent swap partner was Rachel from the USA and she has sent her parcel to Cheryl-lee the day before we sent ours, so we are keeping our eyes on the mail.
Am having a week off work and have my sister visiting and her two beautiful children and I have been sick, note to self don't get sick on holidays, don't function well when sick just lie in bed and sleep.

Sorry long time no post, have been keeping up thou and have been reading blogs every day and staying caught up at what is going on in blog land and finding new blogs and always visiting the old. Have been stitching and making Angel swap and Advent swap pressies and have nearly finished the Angel Swap so can send this week, very exciting.

Have not been doing a lot of work the last two weeks as you can see have been kept busy and then last week was Rachelle birthday and had to make her present but I forgot to photograph them to show you so Rachelle if you are reading this we will need photo's please. I did however make a couple of bags out of Natalie Bird's new book "Sweet Sentiments" and they turned out great and I did make one similar for Rachelle for her birthday.

Last Weekend was two very special boys birthday party, two of my grandsons, brothers no less, have their birthday celebrations, Jed was 4, the day after mine and Tani was 12 two days later. So we have a very big August at our house with all the birthdays this month. My youngest son is a baker, Sean and with his help the boys mum, Cheryl-lee, my oldest, made the two cakes in my kitchen but did thankfully cleaned up the mess. They cakes tasted as nice as they looked.

and I had a birthday that my children surprised me with a very nice meal with family and of course could not help but to use number candles. The cake was beautiful and was called a Treasure cake, mmmm.

Saturday the 15 of August - Gordonvale Quilt Show and Rachelle had one of her quilts on display
When we had our Yungaburra weekend with Button Tree Quilts, Leanne Beasley gave this pattern to us all and here is Rachelle's, don't you love the colors.

No 18. Finished this morning, Postcard Cuties, I just love this quilt and now it is ready to hang up a Christmas, and I know I have already posted one but that was for my daughter, so when making hers I cut out 2 and have only just finished mine.

This is another quilt made for a work friend who has left and I finished this one on Saturday 26th July in the morning and gave it to Robyn when we all had lunch we her a 1pm. Robyn was going home after lunch to get into something comfortable, grab a book and her new quilt and curl up and read, what a great way to spend a rainy afternoon.

who arrived today weighing 2.5kilo's
Mother and baby are doing fine.
Jasmin takes the total to 7 grandchildren.
I better get quilting as she will need a couple of quilts and the next grandchild is due in September.

This is my flannel rag quilt, the flannel was a present from my youngest Sean for Mother's Day 2008, and I thought that I would make it before Mother's Day 2009, as he is always remarking that I don't use all the fabric or kits that he buys me, so now I do.

Every year I go to my sister for two weeks of my holidays and spend time withe her and her family and I also get to see my Aunt Sally who lives in Budrium on the Sunshine Coast, and at the beginning of February is always a rush as I think of present for them all. This year all the girls got a rag quilt and this one was for my Aunt who loved it. I decided to start to use my stash and thought this was a perfect way to use it.

This is the last Teds in Beds, I did and won't be the last as every body seems to love it. The design is by Calico Farm Designs. I love it in these colors and Button Tree Quilts in Cairns has the kits for this in chenille and bright colors that look great. My grandson, Jed got one for Christmas 2 years ago and it is very well used, and now he has a spare when he comes to visit.
No. 5 The first 5 were all finished in the month of January.

This quilt was made for my youngest granddaughter, Ella-Rose, I thought this would make a lovely quilt for the floor as it is made in chenille and a nice touch and feel quilt for babies. No. 4.

This is another quilt that has been laying around unfinished for a couple of years and is now finally finished, it is flannels and is lovely and warm. I fell in love with the colors of the flannels and this pattern. No 3 only 12 more to go.

My second quilt made this year, this one was made for my daughter, Cheryl-lee as a birthday present which was a month late, for her birthday and Christmas, but then again she has it for this year. Quilt by Bunny Hill Designs and is called Postcard Cuties for Winter. I still have not finished mine yet and it only has to be quilted.

I have been busy this year and have made 15 quilts, this is my Red Heart Quilt that I finally finished at the start of the year, the top has been finished for 2 years.

Wonderful Day
What a wonderful day was had today no better way to spend a day then with lovely friends and needle in hand can life get any better. another Quilt finished this week and hopefully a couple of blocks of Breast of Friends will be finished on Tuesday. Great way to start the week.
